Benefits
Road Legal
All our eBikes are road legal. This means they are classified as bicycles and you do not need a driving licence, road tax or insurance and you do not even have to wear a helmet. The only regulation is that you must be over 14 years old.
3x longer range.
Compared to older electric bikes with lead acid or Nickel Metal Hydride batteries all our bikes have Li-ion batteries which are both lighter and can store more energy. We have customers who ride up to 70 miles on a single charge.
Zero running costs
Well almost! A full charge costs between 5 and 10 pence and this will carry you anything from 20 to 70 miles – depending on battery size and how much pedalling you do.
Push bike mode
If you turn the battery off you can ride the bike as a normal push bike with a full range of gears
Keep fit
If you want some exercise, without turning the motor off, turning the pedals will both increase the range of the battery and give you some exercise. Some eBikes - with a torque convertor – measure the effort you put in and match it with the motor. (The more effort you put in the more power the motor gives!)
CO2 Free Transport
An electric motor does not produce CO2, although to be fair, producing the electricity used to charge the batteries does often produce CO2 , but much less than a diesel or petrol engine.
