WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY ?
M.A. Hertfordshire
I have been a proud owner of the A2B metro for over a year and I have to say it has completely changed my opinion of cycling. In the past with the self powered variety - As much as I enjoyed cycling I would never consider commuting on a bike. Arriving to meetings sore and sweaty is never a good look! The metro on the otherhand gives a good 20+ miles without touching the peddles. Much further if you peddle. The torque of the metro is the best part - even the big hills like Highgate is simply no match for the metro. Apart from the fact that it costs nothing to run - it looks amazing. It does draw its fair share of attention so be prepaid to expect to answer questions from amazed drivers at the lights! It is one of the pricer models but you do make savings instantly, especially if you live in a busy town. It has replaced my car for short trips. It's very strong and durable - but this does make it pretty heavy. You won't want to really carry it up stairs. I live in a flat and ise a motorbike cover and a good chain and leave it outside. to heavy to pinch anyway. Servicing is pretty easy - most parts are standard bike parts and everything else you can get from smartebike. Haven't had the need to replace anything yet. The best part about the metro is the freedom it gives you. You can go anywhere a bike can - and beyond.

Good Bits:

Having previously ridden mountain bikes, but beginning to suffer from creaking joints (me, not the bikes), I decided I needed a bit of electrical assistance. So, guided by Bill, I bought a FreeGo Kingfisher, step-through. Not being very technically-minded, it took me a few rides before I really got the hang of how to get the best out of all the available options - gears, assistance, and throttle. My daily journey is a couple of miles on roads and about 11 miles on rough track, and despite the rough surface, thorns and occasional broken glass, I have only had one puncture. At top speed on rough track the bike does rattle, but it bombs along and gets me to my destination very comfortably. While I have had this bike I have had a minor knee operation, and the bike was fantastic for gradually changing from all-electric riding in the early stages of recuperation, through the grades of assistance, to now getting full exercise when I want to and only using the electric assistance on the hills. Charging up the battery is no problem, and I've never run out of power while cycling, even when I've done over 25 miles using quite a lot of electrical assistance. My husband was so impressed when he borrowed it, that he's now bought one of his own - this time a FreeGo Eagle.
